Plan For The Best!

We often plan for the worst-  purchasing car insurance just in case we end up in a wreck, or purchasing health insurance in case we end up sick, or what about buying travel insurance, in case our flight is cancelled.  Planning for the worst is a part of our normal life, but what about planning for the best?

You’ve heard of “If you build it, they will come.”  An even better take on that is if you plan it, it will happen!  Hoping things will happen, wishing and relying on luck will only leave you in a constant state of thinking it MAY happen.  Honestly, the excitement of what MAY happen gets your adrenaline activated.  Then, you become addicted to the feeling of the possibility, rather than resting in the actuality (of what DID happen).   This is the same force that gamblers are driven by.  Hanging on every chance they may win.

Well this is no way to live out your life.  You have to plan to win.  In sports, every team has a strategy, a play by play plan for the best case scenario- the win.  If you want success, you have to plan for it.

I remember the moment I began planning to grow my career in makeup.  I wanted to move from a part-time gig to a full-time career.  Here are some of the things I planned and completed on this new journey:

  • Went down to a part-time work schedule to allow more time to educate myself and make money

  • Went to the LA Makeup trade show to learn more about industry product and to network

  • Took Hands-on Training classes in LA with Celebrity Makeup Artists in the industry

  • Sought out a mentor who’s aesthetic aligned with what I planned to become

Fast forward, and this is my full-time life:  Makeup. Education. Motivation.

I have the privilege of being able to Make- Up women to look and feel beautiful, Educate other aspiring artists as an Instructor Artist at Multimedia Makeup Academy with the knowledge and expertise I have accumulated, and Motivate everyone I encounter to become their very best- personally and professionally.

I want to leave you with this… “Failing to plan, is planning to fail.” – Winston Churchill
