Esthetics or Aesthetics, according to the Webster dictionary, is “relating to art or beauty.” An Esthetician holds a wide variety of titles; they are scientists, artists, skin care specialists & beauty experts when it comes to your skin! Here is a list of things an Esthetician can perform; Facials, extractions, acne treatments, chemical peels, body wraps, masks, and scrubs, waxing and hair removal. Most importantly, and commonly you will find licensed Estheticians working on eyebrow design, sculpting, brow lamination, lash extensions, lash tinting and comprehensive makeup application.

You may think that the only place you can work as an Esthetician is a salon or spa. However, more specifically you w ill see them working at brow bars. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with.

What is Cosmetology?

Cosmetology according to Webster’s definition is “the cosmetic treatment of the skin, hair, and nails.” This is a very simplistic definition as the list of what a cosmetologist does is large. If you are interested in learning more about hair styling, treatment, color, cutting, or makeup application, then this may be the choice for you.
